International agreements and cooperation
Greenland participates in the international fight against tax evasion and prevention of aggressive tax planning. The drafting of international standards as well as the control with national implementation is mainly conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Greenland has undertaken to meet the international standards and has been admitted as member of two cooperation organisations under the OECD: 1) the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information, and 2) the Inclusive Framework on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS).
In addition, Greenland has a close working relationship with its Nordic neighbors in regards to exchange of tax information, in the fight against international tax avoidance as well as in customs matters. The cooperation takes place bilaterally as well as multilaterally in accordance with international agreements. The framework for the common Nordic cooperation is to a large extend set by the Nordic Council of Ministers and in the Nordic Agenda.
